World class photographer, John Higginson, captures the Eagle Speedster before it's departure to the USA.
We were delighted that GQ Magazine commissioned a feature on our new Speedster - and even more delighted that they sent John Higginson down to photograph it and Celia Walden to write about it. Possibly John's most familiar recent work are the Jaguar images that we are currently seeing in magazines, brochures and on billboards across the world.
From the moment that John saw the Speedster here at Eagle he immediately wanted to do a proper studio session feeling that the leafy Sussex lanes were simply not going to do it justice.
Of course, we were delighted to take the car up to Junction Eleven studio and honoured that John felt the car deserved his extra time and effort . The day gave a fascinating insight into just how much time and expertise goes into creating every image to this highest level. Aside from John, two more experts were busy handling lighting and equipment for over 13 hours to achieve just four images.
John regularly works with David Carefull, Global Communications Manager for Jaguar XJ and XK, and to cap the day off for us very nicely David dropped by the studio to check out the Speedster. It was a pleasure to explain the concept and how we have created this unique and authentic period extension to the original E-Type range. David thought the Speedster very beautiful and was fascinated by all the 1060's Jaguar styling cues that they strive to preserve on the current designs.
The 'team shot' above shows (left to right) Eagle's Andrew Batt and Paul Brace and then the ace photographic team of Russ, John and Rich.
The feature, written by Celia Walden, was in the January 2010 copy of GQ and Johns images were stunning.
