Laurence Freedman and Grandson Luca took their freshly delivered Eagle to Eastern Creek, Sydney, for a 'shake down/running in' session.
As Australias premier trackday the 'Events O'Neill Burrows day' always attracts an exceptional line up of cars as seen here with Eagle No.19 comfortably nestled ahead of Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The E-Type still however prompted this quote from organiser, Luke's, post event report:
“What a line up in pit lane as well! There must have been a sale on at Ferrari (hahahahaha!) as we had 14 examples of the worlds most recognisable car spanning over 10 years of their recent history - from 355 to 599. Porsche, Lotus, Aston Martin, AMG Mercedes, BMW, Audi, MINI, 4 wheel drive turbo rocket ships and even the odd 'track day special' arrived as well, making it...well...another Burrows Day pit lane! Sensational!
The highlight for me however, was the stunning Eagle E-Type Jaguar convertible. This car was hand built in England on an original E-Type chassis with all original parts...except those parts that were seriously upgraded! Like the slotted AP Racing brakes, carbon fibre intakes, full ECU engine management and many other bits that just kept catching your eye.
In a sea of seriously quick super dooper cars, the E-Type reminded you why you fell in love with beautiful cars in the first place. Next to the Lamborghini Muira, I believe it's one of the most beautiful cars ever made.”
Well, watch out next time when No.19 is 'run in' because this 4.7 litre, 5 speed, ECU, EPAS, A/C, full 'Sport' specification beauty is not just a pretty face!
